Nevada Assemblies
Nevada Rainbow Assemblies have regular meetings twice a month
on a set schedule, as well as service projects and fun activities. The youth leader is called
the “Worthy Advisor” who presides over the meetings where the girls attend to business and the workings of the Assembly; and perform memorized
work. The girls themselves, with the guidance of their Advisory Board, are responsible for the financial management, correspondence,
and organization of all assembly activities.
An assembly has 7 elected and 13 appointed offices. Every 4 to 6 months, an Installation of officers is held and is open for all to attend. Girls are given the opportunity to fill many different positions for a short period of time. A girl may wish to advance through the elected offices and eventually become the Worthy Advisor. Any member may accept chairmanship of an event or committee, learning to organize and work with peers to a successful conclusion.
The Advisory Board is comprised of Majority Members, member’s Parents, Grandparents,
and Legal Guardians, Master Masons, and members of Eastern Star. These adults have a deep interest in helping
young people, are respected leaders, and provide the core of the directly involved
adult leadership.
A Mother Advisor is selected from among the members of the Advisory Board.
She
works hand-in-hand with the girls and allows them to preside over the affairs
of the Assembly with her direction and guidance.
There are also statewide meetings, held throughout the year as well as the
state convention called “Grand
Assembly”. Every two years an international meeting called “Supreme Assembly”
is held.
